Meeting/Event Information

The RNPW program year is September through June of each year.  Our meetings are typically the 3rd Monday of each month.  However, in September we kickoff the program year with an evening reception that is a bit more relaxed so that members can renew contacts, meet new friends, and learn what the upcoming year will have for informational and inspirational speakers.

2020 - 2021 Theme: Resilient

Definition:  The power or ability to return to the original form, position, etc., after being bent, compressed, or stretched, elasticity. Ability to recover readily from illness, depression, adversity, or the like; buoyancy.

The programs will have 6 Pillars to becoming resilient.

Self-care-mind, body

Meaningful Relationships

Each year our Program Committee works diligently to invite exceptionally dynamic women from the region to speak on their achievements—both the successes and challenges in reaching their goals. Read the "More Info" on each month's topics and register before the cutoff date to void a late fee.

Non-Members/Guests are welcome to attend at any time up to 2 meetings before membership is required -- member referral is not a requirement to attend or join.

Circuit Court Judge Rosemary Collins will speak about hearing difficult truth from your tribe and will have an update on the need for a Peace Center in Rockford.
Circuit Court Judge Rosemary Collins was the Presiding Judge of the Domestic Violence Division, the Family Division, and carried a full time felony trial calendar until she recently retired after serving nearly 30 years on the bench.  Judge Collins broke an over 100 year old glass ceiling when she was appointed to the bench, the first woman to so serve in Winnebago and Boone county.  Serving almost 25 years as the Chair of the 17th Judicial Circuit’s Family Violence Coordinating Council, she started one of the first domestic violence coordinated courts division in the nation and spoke to the U.S. Conference of Chief Justices in 2016 about establishing dedicated domestic violence courts.  In 1998 she spearheaded the opening of the Domestic Violence Assistance Center in the Courthouse which advocates for victims of domestic violence throughout the order of protection process. She serves as President of the Board of Children’s Safe Harbor and is Vice-President of the Board of the Family Peace Center.  Judge Collins served as a faculty assistant at the National Judicial College Mediation Program and has lectured at the University of Illinois School of Medicine and Northern Illinois University’s College of Law on legal and family violence issues.  She has also presented trainings in domestic violence and sexual assault for Northern Illinois University’s football team. She has received numerous national, state, and local awards for her work on violence prevention including the prestigious Excalibur Award and the Boy Scouts Legacy of Service Award.
