President's Message

Rooted in Strength, Rising Together
As we close another incredible programming year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the power of this community and the connections we continue to build together.
At our May meeting, our featured speaker, Rebecca Epperson, reminded us that “empowered women, empower women.” Her message perfectly captured the spirit of our organization and this year’s theme: Rooted in Strength, Rising Together. When women support one another, share opportunities, and celebrate each other’s successes, we create a network that lifts everyone
higher. This year has been filled with meaningful conversations, inspiring speakers, professional growth, and lasting friendships. Each meeting offered opportunities not only to learn, but to connect, engage, and strengthen our community. The value of this organization comes from the energy
and participation of its members — showing up, sharing ideas, volunteering time, and supporting one another throughout the year.
As we look ahead to next season, I encourage everyone to continue investing in this community by attending meetings, joining committees, participating in discussions, and truly embracing the messages and insights shared by our speakers. The more involved we are, the stronger we become together. Every voice, perspective, and contribution helps shape the future of our
organization and creates opportunities for others to grow alongside us.
None of this year’s success would have been possible without the dedication of our talented and incredibly hardworking Board of Directors, our Network Connections Mentoring program with our partnership with Rockford University and the enthusiasm and support of our membership.
Thank you for your leadership, your commitment, and your belief in the mission of empowering women through connection and collaboration.
As summer begins, I also want to remind everyone to renew your membership for the upcoming year. We are excited to welcome everyone back in September for our kick-off meeting and another inspiring year of networking, learning, leadership, and growth. Thank you for being part of this extraordinary community. Wishing you all a wonderful summer, and we look forward to rising together again in the fall.
With appreciation,
President, RNPW

Helping People Find Resolution with Compassion and Expertise
When conflict arises, many people assume their only option is a stressful and costly courtroom battle. Sandra Chu is dedicated to changing that perception by helping individuals and organizations find peaceful, practical solutions through mediation and arbitration.
As an attorney, mediator, and arbitrator, Sandra specializes in family law mediation and private dispute resolution. Drawing on her extensive background in civil litigation—including years of representing government agencies in mediations, trials, and appellate matters—she understands firsthand the emotional and financial strain that legal disputes can place on everyone involved.
Today, Sandra uses that experience to guide parties toward creative, mutually beneficial resolutions outside the courtroom. Her approach focuses on understanding the underlying needs of both sides, narrowing areas of disagreement, and fostering productive conversations that lead to lasting solutions.
Sandra believes that resolving conflict should be a harmonious experience, not an adversarial one. Through personalized mediation services, she helps clients feel at ease while working toward outcomes that respect the interests of all parties involved.
Working with Sandra is a simple three-step process:
• Schedule a 15-minute introductory call
• Explore a more amicable approach to conflict resolution
• Leave with a creative solution designed to restore harmony and move forward
In addition to her mediation practice, Sandra serves as an arbitrator with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and on the American Arbitration Association's (AAA) Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Panel.
Sandra's passion for helping people navigate difficult situations with dignity, respect, and understanding makes her a valuable resource for anyone seeking an alternative to litigation. Her work empowers clients to resolve disputes efficiently while preserving relationships whenever possible.

Quote:
“You don’t have to be the loudest voice in the room to be the one people trust.”
Leadership doesn’t always look like having all the answers or taking the lead in every conversation. I’ve learned that some of the most impactful leaders are steady, consistent, and thoughtful.
Quiet confidence shows up in how you follow through, how you treat people, and how you handle challenges. It doesn’t demand attention—but it earns respect.
This month, I’m reminding myself that I don’t have to match anyone else’s style to be effective. Showing up with clarity, consistency, and intention is more than enough.
