President's Message

 “Empowered women, empower women.”

“Success isn’t just about what you accomplish in your life; it’s about what you inspire others to accomplish.” - Kerry Frank

That is a core belief I have developed during my time as a Rockford Network member. It is hard to believe that I have been a member for almost 10 years, and when I look back on my leadership development, RNPW has been at the core of my growth. It has been this organization that has introduced me to some of my closest mentors and friends; women who encourage me to be vulnerable and to push myself; women I can trust; a form of “tribe”. RNPW was my first board position and opened my eyes to “servant leadership”. I am so grateful to be a part of this organization, filled with over a hundred amazing women!

Here are some of my favorite member benefits:

  • Peer support and recognition through community award nominations
  • Online Member News submissions
  • Opportunity to display flyers/brochures at meetings
  • Discounts available for members for special events
  • Become selected for "Member Minute" and inform members and guests more about your business
  • Provide a scholarship to a deserving woman 23+ ($2500).
  • Join this great group on February 17th to learn from Kerry Frank how to “Recreate Your Tribe”. She drives innovation through perseverance and will leave us inspired to dream big and support the women of our tribe to accomplish great things.
  • If you’re not already, becoming a member is easy and can be done at

Ratified - Not Denied!...

100 Anniversary Celebration of Women's Suffrage

CALLING FOR ARTISTS to submit works of all mediums for the next Womanspace gallery exhibit:

March 13 - May 10, 2020

The long struggle for women's suffrage shows us that activism isn't new but that is it has been woven into individual and collective stories of empowerment for a very long time.  Committed people have always brought about social and political change by grouping with others of like mind - and we still do this today.  In this exhibit, marking 100 years since the ratification of the 19th Amendment, artists will celebrate women's empowerment  - not only at the ballot box, but in all aspects of life.  Prepare yourself for a call to action in this visural exploration of power, purpose, pathos and possibility in "Ratified! Not Denied."

Submission deadline:  Tuesday, March 10, 2020

Contact Cherie Heck at [email protected] for contract and details.

Have Some Fun & Support a Great Cause

One thousand at risk girls in the Rockford area learn about healthy relationships, STEM careeers, entreprenuership, business ethics, setting and achieveing goals, and helping others, all through the Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois (GSNI) Project Opportunity outreach program.  For some girls in our area traditional, volunteer led Girl Scout troops, or most any other extra curricular activity for that matter, are not possible, due to financial constraints, a lack of available adults to lead Girl Scouts troops, or a lack of transportation.  For that reason Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois provides staff led Girl Scout troops for girls in this situation, at schools, community centers, and at other sites, making it possible for them to become Girl Scout members.

To help fund Project Opportunity outreach troops GSNI holds two special events, Over the Edge 4 Girl Scouts (OTE4GS) and the Thin Mint Sprint.  This year Over the Edge 4 Girl Scouts will be held in Rockford, on May 30, 2020, at SupplyCore, 303 N. Main Street.  The event is an exciting outdoor adventure, where people raise funds for GSNI and earn the opportunity to rappel down the SupplyCore building.  The event also includes a street festival with family friendly activities.  Also included is the corporate challenge aspect of Toss the Boss, where groups of people fundraise together to send a boss/colleague OTE4GS!  There are MANY ways to participate in the event and we would love to have you be a part of it!  For more information visit or contact Lynn Momberger at 815-209-6664 or [email protected] Thank you!

Mary Kay Morrison Speaker, Educator, Author of "Using Humor to Maximize Living" was just published in the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor ( AATH)  Humor Voice.  Congratulate her when you see her!  Quite an accomplishment!

From Your Webmaster:

As a member of RNPW, you already know that one of the best benefits is our robust membership directory.  Accessible through the website after you log in, you can find fellow members areas of expertise, contact information and hopefully a photo to identify them for the next meeting.  An updated member area now lists committee and board positions held by members so you can find common ground, referrals or even appointments to a position on your bucket list.

Now is the perfect time to log in to the website, update your membership profile and list any committees or boards you have served on.

While you're there, upload a photo so other members can recognize you and say "hi" at the next meeting or event.

Benefiting:  Nikolas Ritschel Foundation

Enrich ~ Encourage ~ Strengthen

Help us Bring Joy

The mission of the Nikolas Ritschel Foundation is to enrich, encourage, and strengthen the faith and hope of our young adult cancer warriors.  During a period of time where good news is difficult to find, the Nikolas Ritschel Foundation is able to provide a helping hand by granting a wish that can truly change the life of the young cancer warrior and their family.   In 2019 the Foundation delivered 54 wishes in 19 states!!!

Through your participation in this fundraiser you will be helping to fulfil the mission of the Nikolas Ritschel foundation.  We are not asking for donations.  We are just asking that you consider shopping at a different store for basic essentials that you are already purchasing somewhere else.

Nik’sFoundation will benefit, month after month, year after year, when you become a Melaleuca customer.  It is common that once customers enroll many remain members for life due to the exceptional quality and value of the product line. This fundraiser will create a residual income stream for Nik’s Foundation indefinitely.

To learn more about becoming a member of the Online Shopping Club to support Nik’s Foundation please contact Carol Lamb, 815-624-4485, [email protected]

It is an honor and privilege to be working with Kelli Ritschel-Boehle and Lydia Bainter on this project and hope that you will join Nik's Tribe in supporting this very worthy cause.

Calendar of Events

Meeting/Event Information

The RNPW program year is September through June of each year. Our meetings are typically the 3rd Monday of each month. However, in September we kickoff the program year with an evening reception that is a bit more relaxed so that members can renew contacts, meet new friends, and learn what the upcoming year will have for informational and inspirational speakers.

2019 - 2020 Theme: The Power of a Tribe

Each year our Program Committee works diligently to invite exceptionally dynamic women from the region to speak on their achievements—both the successes and challenges in reaching their goals. Read the "More Info" on each month's topics and register before the cutoff date to void a late fee.

Non-Members/Guests are welcome to attend at any time up to 2 meetings before membership is required -- member referral is not a requirement to attend or join.
