President's Message

We made it!  We did it!  We might be a little more tattered and banged but we crossed the finish line of 2020.  We were RESILIENT!

I am sure like many of you, I simply could not wait for 2020 to end.  I am not naive enough to think that a new year is a turnkey change.  That 2021 will be a piece of cake.  But it does allow for a fresh start if will.   I am always a sucker for a fresh start.  A new day.  A reason to begin again.

I feel like I spent much for 2020 with my head down pushing through.  Not looking UP enough to enjoy moments right in front of me.  I have heard from many of you and shared with you the struggles and challenges that the past year have brough.  But, I have also heard your stories of victory and celebration! I am always blown by the resilience of this network, of this tribe.

As we begin our year together, my hope is that 2021 is filled with more of the later.  That 2021 brings victories and celebrations.

If you are like me Self-Care seems to take the back burner when navigating a tough season.  We hope you will join us on Monday, January 18th as Delinda Grindle illustrates to us not only the importance of Self-Care.

We also want to be sure that we are getting all of the information and benefits that come along with being a member of Rockford Network of Professional Women.  If you have yet to renew your membership, we ask that you do so.  This allows for us to continue our planning efforts for the network, but more importantly it allows us to fulfill our mission of our annual scholarship program.

Please be sure to register prior as this will ensure you receive the Zoom link to join.

I cannot wait to SEE your faces again soon!

Be Great Today!

ROCKFORD, Illinois, January 25 — Mosaic is partnering with Business Network International Profit Professionals to invite the community to participate in a February Love Drive For Mosaic. The goal is to collect paper products that will help Mosaic continue to keep people safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We have incurred an unforeseen expense during COVID-19 because, as a safety measure, we are temporarily using disposable paper and plastic for meals in the homes we operate,” said Linda Wennmacher, Mosaic in Rockford Executive Director. “As a group, people with disabilities are more susceptible to the virus, and when they do get sick with COVID-19, they also have more severe cases and a higher incidence of death than the rest of the population. We are being very cautious.”

Specific products requested include disposable plates, bowls, cups, utensils as well as napkins or paper towels. Beginning on Monday, February 1st, they can be dropped off at these locations:

  • Twin Towers, 123 Logan Avenue, Belvidere
  • Northwest Bank (all locations)
  • The Landscape Connection 4472 S. Mulford Road, Rockford
  • Danna Krischke State Farm, 6735 Broadcast Parkway, Loves Park
  • Hour Eye Care, 5003 Honenegah Road, Suite 1, Roscoe

The drive will continue through Friday, February 26th.

“We grateful for all of the support we receive from the community,” Wennmacher said.

Mosaic is a whole-person healthcare organization reaching across 10 states and providing supports to more than 4,300 people. Services empower people with disabilities, mental and behavioral health needs and autism, as well as aging adults to live their best life. In the greater Rockford area, Mosaic serves 75 people. Mosaic is an affiliated social ministry organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and a member of Lutheran Services in America. Mosaic is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Calendar of Events

Meeting/Event Information

The RNPW program year is September through June of each year. Our meetings are typically the 3rd Monday of each month. However, in September we kickoff the program year with an evening reception that is a bit more relaxed so that members can renew contacts, meet new friends, and learn what the upcoming year will have for informational and inspirational speakers.

2020 - 2021 Theme: Resilient

Definition:  The power or ability to return to the original form, position, etc., after being bent, compressed, or stretched, elasticity. Ability to recover readily from illness, depression, adversity, or the like; buoyancy.

The programs will have 6 Pillars to becoming resilient.

Self-care-mind, body

Meaningful Relationships

Each year our Program Committee works diligently to invite exceptionally dynamic women from the region to speak on their achievements—both the successes and challenges in reaching their goals. Read the "More Info" on each month's topics and register before the cutoff date to void a late fee.

Non-Members/Guests are welcome to attend at any time up to 2 meetings before membership is required -- member referral is not a requirement to attend or join.
