Mentorship
RNPW is proud to continue our Network Connections program, now entering its second year. This initiative connects local college-aged women with the incredible members of Rockford Network of Professional Women, fostering mentorship, guidance, and meaningful community connections. In partnership with two Rockford University professionals, the program is designed to create a mutually beneficial experience that connects students with RNPW mentor-advocates.
PROGRAM GOALS
Through Network Connections, we aim to:
- Promote genuine human connection
- Inspire and empower future leaders
- Help young women engage with community members
- Support the growth of our local community

Provide resources, encouragement, and relationship-building opportunities
For the 2025–2026 year, 15 RNPW members are serving as mentors. Some mentees are returning for a second year, and we are welcoming eight or nine new participants. One former mentee who graduated in May 2025 has even joined as a member! If you attend a luncheon or event, we encourage you to introduce yourself to one of our mentees.
BECOMING A MENTOR
This year, we are expanding from 10 to 15 advocate/student pairings. Mentors are expected to:
- Attend monthly luncheons and RNPW events
- Promote the core values of RNPW
- Connect with their assigned student at least once per month (or more if desired)
- Use a convenient communication method for the student (email, text, phone, etc.)

Represent RNPW positively in all interactions
By participating as a mentor, you help shape the next generation of professional women while fostering lasting relationships and strengthening our community.
